Recherche-Action
Since 2017, I have been collaborating on participatory art based research projects in Switzerland with social worker and researcher Sylvia Garcia-Delahaye. Together, we created the "My Voice in images" methodology.
The aim of "My Voice in images" is to ensure the real (Arnstein, 1969) and effective (Sen, 2009) participation of children and young people in the construction of knowledge on social issues that concern them, and of public policies and social actions aimed at them.
"Ma Voix en images" takes the form of workshops using photography and video to collect and promote the voices of children and young people affected by social issues. Various research cycles have been undertaken using this methodology (e.g., the protection of minors or the reception conditions of migrant minors), which evolves in contact with the sensitivity and expertise of a mixed research-action team made up of young co-researchers and other artist-pedagogues and researchers. These research projects have brought the voices of children and young people to decision-making levels (institutions and public policies).
Today, thanks to the support of the Swiss National Science Foundation (SNSF), "My Voice in images" is developing a new theme: child poverty in Switzerland.
