Project carried out in Lancy (Geneva, Switzerland) with local elementary schools.
Collaboration with graphic designer Joyce Vuille
For the second edition of "La nature s'affiche à Lancy" project, photographer Valérie Frossard and graphic designer Joyce Vuille created large-format posters in collaboration with local schools. Five classes from different Lancy establishments took part in the workshops for this project, entitled "Upcycling monstre!"
The first cycle of workshops was dedicated to mask-making based on the principle of upcycling. Using materials destined to be thrown away, students worked in small groups to create atypical characters to which they gave particular attention. The artists worked with the students to reflect on the importance of paying attention to things, but also to people who are "neglected" or outside the norm. The children then took part in a photo shoot to immortalize their creations. Each student was responsible for a specific task: dressing, shooting, art direction or modeling.
